The following  are some of the common questions that are asked....

1.What documents do you require? The source documents support a transaction. This may take a number of different forms including – bank statements, receipts, till slips, invoices etc.

2. Do you collect my records? Yes. Your documents and information will be collected at times to suit you including evenings and weekends. Alternatively you can email or post the documents. Please contact us for further information regarding digital transfer.

3. What information will I receive while you are working on my books? You will receive regular updates on our progress and reports via email or post. Your profit and loss statement, debtor’s analysis etc will be sent monthly or whenever required.

4. Can you complete my VAT return? Yes, we will calculate the figures required by HMRC for your VAT return..

5. Do you work at my office or yours while processing my accounts? We have found that it is easier for our clients if we take the accounts away to work at our offices however if required we can compile your books on your premises.

6. How frequently will you need to update my books? Once a week, once a month, once a quarter or annually, it is entirely up to you. We can discuss the advantages of all time scales and how they apply to your situation.

7. How much will your service cost? When we have an understanding of your requirements we give you a written quotation detailing the work required, cost and frequency of service. We charge a very competitive hourly rate for our service.

8. Is there a minimum charge? No, our business is based on the concept of offering value for money to our clients so any fees paid will be for work completed whether it is 8 hours or 30 minutes.

9. Can you give me tax advice? No, as bookkeepers we compile your accounts ready for your accountant who will assist you with your tax requirements.

10. Why should I outsource my bookkeeping? Outsourcing your bookkeeping will save you a lot of time and money. You would have to deal with training, sicknesses, PAYE and national insurance contributions if you were to employ someone to work in house. Outsourcing the work also means that you will not have to invest in the software packages, which can be substantial.
